Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has told fans that he doesn't expect another opportunity to challenge for a world title before he retires.
The 35-year-old dropped has won just once in his last five fights after suffering a second round knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov earlier this month.
'The Last Stylebender' said on his youtube channel: "Do I have a title shot in mind for the future? No. When I got to the UFC I never chased the belt, I expected it, I expected to be champion. After the [Dricus Du Plessis] fight I remember thinking, oh well [the title] will come around. But now I'm not expecting anything, I'm not expecting to be the champ again."
The New Zealand-based fighter won the undisputed middleweight title in 2019 by knocking out Robert Whittaker, he then went on to defend his title five times before running into a familiar foe in Alex Pereira.
Adesanya now has a professional MMA record of 24-5, but refused to drop any hints of potential future opponents as he contently said: "If what I've done in this game doesn't make me happy, then what will?"
