Paddy Pimblett Predicts a "Spectacular" Win Over "Small" Michael Chandler at UFC 314

Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett has said that he will win in spectacular fashion against seventh-ranked UFC lightweight Michael Chandler at UFC 314.

The 22-3 fighter from Liverpool, England has been vocal in his ambitions to win a UFC world title, and he gets an opportunity to face off against a former title challenger in Miami on April 12th.

Just four weeks out from the fight, Pimblett is coming to the back end of his training camp as he told Fight Night Network: "Everything is going boss, I just can't wait to get in there. I haven't fought since July, nine months but it is going to be spectacular, I can't wait to get in Miami for the first ever time and take number seven [UFC wins].

Pimblett attended the UFC 314 press conference from Las Vegas this week, and was surprised by his size advantage over Chandler as he said: "I thought he was smaller than me, but... he's a lot smaller than me. I thought he was going to be wider than he is, but I was just as wide as him. I'm looking forward to getting in there with him."

Unlike a number of his previous appearances, "The Baddy" is adamant that he has no animosity towards Chandler.

He said that it is just business at the end of the day, and that both men have a family that they want to get home to, but when the cage shuts they are both going to be mortal enemies.

In his perfect 6-0 start to the UFC, Pimblett has amassed four finishes which leave him sat 12th in the UFC lightweight rankings.

Chandler on the other hand was a former three-time Bellator world champion before making the switch to the UFC, and ever since, the American has seen mixed results as he is 2-4 with the promotion, including a world title fight defeat to Charles Oliveira.

Pimblett compared the size of Michael Chandler to adversary Ilia Topuria as he said that "Iron Mike" is small, but nearly as small as rival Ilia [Topuria].

Topuria recently vacated his undisputed featherweight title to move up to 155lbs, and Pimblett believes that he should have to fight to earn a shot at the belt as he said: "Islam [Makhachev] will embarrass [Topuria]. I think he should fight Arman Tsarukyan or Charles Oliveira if he wants a title shot, you can't just come straight up after one defence."
